OMAHM Celebrates 10,000 Downloads!

My gasts were recently flabbered when I noticed the OMAHM download counter had reached 10,000 for the first five shows! That means an average of 2,000 people are tuning in to hear me enthusing about retro game music. All I can say is a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has downloaded the show and for all the great feedback I receive about these podcasts.

If you have enjoyed listening to the OMAHM podcasts and would like to hear MORE shows produced on a more regular basis please consider making a donation to the BZ pot. It takes an enormous amount of time and effort to research, record, produce and edit each show and by making a donation (even if it's just a pound!) you are not only showing your support but are also making more regular shows possible. I've got plenty of great show ideas lined up for 2008 so stay tuned to this webpage (or subscribe to the RSS feed) for the latest info about forthcoming One Man & His Mic shows.

"Thanks for listening, see you ... IN THE FUTURE!"

Show #10 - 8-Bits At The Movies
(Featuring music from 8-Bit movie tie-in games)

Now Available For Download!
Running Time: 62 mins (approx).

[Download mp3]

Grab some popcorn, a fizzy drink and a big hot-dog as we're taking a trip to the Movies! Yep, for the 10th One Man & His Mic show I've immersed myself in the world of the 8-Bit movie tie-in game. You can expect to hear a LOT of great themes from your favourite 80's movies performed on the Commodore 64, Spectrum 128 and Amstrad CPC computers. The show includes tracks by Martin Galway, David Whittaker, Jonathan Dunn, Matthew Cannon, Charles Deenen + more heroes from the world of 8-bit music. There's even a 'special' guest appearance from a VERY, erm, "famous" Atari 2600 game too. Ouch!

8-Bits At The Movies Competition Now Closed!

This show contained the first ever One Man & His Mic competition. A montage of 40 movie themes (performed by the Commodore 64) was featured near the end of the show and I asked people to try to name as many as they could. The eventual winner was ... (Cue Drumroll) ...

Jan Zottman!

Jan managed to correctly name 34 out of the 40 tunes - beating the nearest runner-up by just one tune! Good work Jan, the £40.00 gift voucher is now winging its way to your inbox. For a complete list of the tracks that were featured in the compo montage click the link below.

Show status: Now online and available for download.
