This is basically a PC compatible CD-ROM which features every single disk from the Binary Zone PD C64 catalogue! Absolutely every last demo, utility, PD game, disk magazine, animation, megademo and slideshow can be found on this incredible CD-ROM! All the disks have been converted into standard .D64 disk images which are compatible with most of the C64 emulators that are currently available. The CD contains over SEVEN HUNDRED disk images (which would cost over £600 if you were to buy each disk separately) which have been carefully compiled over a TEN YEAR period! This isn't just another demo collection which has been ported onto the PC - this is the ENTIRE "Binary Zone PD" disk catalogue which features literally HUNDREDS of custom compiled C64 disks!!
The software on this CD-ROM ranges from classic demos (dating back to the late 80's) right up to recent demo releases! There's also art disks (slideshows etc.), loads of excellent PD games, heaps of handy utilities and much, MUCH more!! The software has been arranged on the CD in folders relating to which catalogue "update" the disks are featured on. For example. The folder "update 1" will contain every demo disk which was featured on Binary Zone PD Catalogue Update 1. The CD-ROM even contains all the disks from the recently released "Update 12!!".
In order to make the BINARY ZONE PD *CD-ROM Collection* nice and easy to navigate around it also comes with a text file which contains the NAME, DISK NUMBER and CONTENTS of each disk. The filenames from each loadable file have been included in the text file so if you wish to search for a particular demo you can do this easily in a standard text editor and this will show you on which disk the required program is located. The main text file has also been split into the relevant sections and included in each "update" folder.

The price of the CD reflects the TEN YEARS of my life which I have devoted to the production of this software collection. Every single disk on the CD has been painstakingly compiled to make full use of the space available. As an extra bonus this CD-ROM also features over 40 disks of PD adventure games (which contain over TWO HUNDRED adventure games in total)! These were previously available from 'The Guild' (which I took over a few years ago). I have also included the popular Binary Zone PD "Guild PD Adventure" compilations which contain the tastiest titbits from the Guild PD software range. Interestingly, if you were to buy the adventures using the old "pic 'n' mix" offer which the 'Guild' used to run (before I took it over) then these adventures alone would have cost far more than the total cost of this whole CD!
The FULL commercial versions of the Psytronik Software releases are also included on the CD. These are not the Supportware versions of the games, these are the ACTUAL Psytronik releases which were quite highly rated when they were released a few years ago. "Sceptre Of Baghdad" is a superb arcade adventure from Jon Wells which took him a good few years to write (and it shows with the quality of of the graphics, separate end sequence and excellent disk menu system), the "Archetype" & "Cops 3" twin pack which was an attempt to bring Alf Yngve's excellent games to a wider audience and the classic "Shoot 'em up Destruction Set" was awarded 90% by Commodore Format!! I have also included scans of the original artwork produced by Alf Yngve for these great releases on the CD-ROM.
Not only does this CD-ROM feature ALL the software in the disk catalogue but it also features some that ISN'T in the catalogue at all! In the past I have produced various compilations which I have given away on the "flip-side" of certain single-sided PD disks which people have ordered. The compilations have featured exclusive Binary Zone demos, demo charts, notes and info about the Zone etc. I thought this would be a nice surprise for people ordering PD when they find MORE software on the flip-side of one of their disks. Every single issue of "Commodore Zone" has featured a superb custom compiled covermount. I have included both sides of each disk covermount from all the currently available issues of CZone (issues 1-16 inclusive) on this CD-ROM. There's absolutely LOADS of amazing software to be found on the coverdisks including lots of software which has been produced EXCLUSIVELY for the magazine. Not many people know this but there are in fact a selection of Binary Zone PD disks that were produced and are available soley for PC owners! As this is the Binary Zone PD CD-ROM collection I thought it would be a nice idea to include these too. The range of disks include high quality picture collections (Gillian Anderson, Louise and the Spice Girls) and two "Windows Enhancement Disks". These let you enhance your Windows set-up with pictures and sounds from "The X-Files" and there's even a "SPICE GIRLS" Windows enhancement disk! This CD actually features ENHANCED versions of the "X-Files" and "Spice Girls" theme disks - with far more sound samples than you would get on the original floppy version. When the "X-Files" disk was originally compiled I produced 5 meg of "appropriate" sound samples. Of course, there wasn't room on the floppy disk for all of these so I only managed to include a few of them on the disk. You of course get the entire 5 meg WAV collection on the CD-ROM!
Firstly, "what the blazes is Xmas Chortles?!?!" I hear you all cry. Well, it is in fact the name of three bizarre audio tapes which I made in my "yoof". I then went on to make "Xmas Chortles - The Movie" which featured lots of camcorder capers, C64 games being played, home-made music video's and much more. I'm currently working on the sequel to "Xmas Chortles" and have featured some VIDEO previews of my movie on this CD-ROM!
"Okay, so what has this got to do with the C64?" you ask. Quite a lot, surprisingly! As I said before the first movie featured footage of us playing C64 games (while shouting into microphones) and the sequel will have more of the same. (The first movie also featured a lengthy music video featuring all the "best bits" from various C64 demos!) One section of "Xmas Chortles 2" features CGI cartoon versions of myself and various chums attacking the Deathstar! This IS featured on this CD-ROM and check out who is riding in the back of the X-Wing instead of R2-D2. Yep, it's a C64!!
This section of the CD also contains 3 audio Mpeg files which feature 4 minute compacted and remixed versions of the "Xmas Chortles" audio tapes. These should give you some idea of what "Xmas Chortles" is all about and what sort of zany japery we used to get up to when we were kids! There's stacks of C64 music throughout these Mpegs along with lots and lots of other bizarre stuff. As well as these mpegs I've also included previews of the title and opening sequence from "Xmas Chortles 2", two of my chums having a REAL lightsabre fight in my back garden, an amusing cartoon where we get attacked by an "AT-AT" and there's even our tribute to the cool "Mission: Impossible" movie! Hehehe!
