Five years later Crest released "Krestology", a demo obviously inspired by "Dutch Breeze" in places. As well as featuring superb (and occasionally risqué) graphics, clever routines and even pictures displayed in previously unseen resolutions this release featured an array of high quality soundtracks by mITCH & dANE, Drax, Xayne, MSK and Deek. The demo was actually reviewed in issue 5 of Commodore Zone and was awarded a whopping 98% in total!!
And now, these two titans of the demo scene have finally clashed!! Every single tune from both demos has been digitally recorded from the C64 for a CD compilation which I have decided to call "Dutch Breeze vs Krestology!" The name for the compilation was inspired by the "Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter" game on the PlayStation (which also gave me the idea for the CD inlay!) The CD features 29 separate tracks in total (over 70 minutes of music!) and as an extra bonus the CD contains a track by Edwin Van Santen which was featured in the Dutch Breeze Preview ... My thanks must go to Paul Chapman who gave me the idea to do the CD in the first place and, of course, Black Mail and Crest for creating two unforgettable Commodore 64 demos. This CD is a tribute to their work.
